EDAK Moves Into New Plant
Released: Feb 1, 2006
Melbourne, FL -- EDAK, a globally active company offering engineered aluminum solutions with manufacturing sites in the US and Switzerland, announced the opening of its new North American Plant.
"The growth of EDAK in North America has made it necessary to increase our capacity and this means more space,” stated Kevin Gholston, General Manager. “This strengthens EDAK’s ability to provide faster turn-around of customer orders with greatly enhanced capacity for larger deployments.”
EDAK moved into its new plant right before Christmas, and has been operating there ever since the 48 hour shut-down needed for the move. The new 20,650 sf facility sits on a 12 acre 4 building campus. Construction is planned to start this spring on Building 2.
The new facility is also getting new machines to enhance the quality as well as the lead time for EDAK’s products. Gholston reports that the plant, when in full operation, will create employment for approximately 30 new people in its first year of production. "With the current growth rate in the military and commercial sales of EDAK products, we expect this plant will employee over 80-90 personnel when the plant is operating at full capacity in a year or two!" Employment opportunities will include management, administrative and plant personnel. Interested candidates may apply by faxing their resume to 321-674-6217 or emailing it to the HR Manager.
